- Perform a gap analysis on existing disaster recovery capabilities, against the DR strategy to formulate viable plans to mitigate the gaps
- Ensure that the organization has viable and achievable disaster recovery plans to carry out business operations under adverse and emergency conditions
- Manage and coordinate quarterly DR testing and governance related action planning
- Inspect site server rooms and generate inspection reports, as well as reports on all aspects of operations and maintenance of critical facilities
- Ensure the quality of all governance team documents and processes
- Coordinate the development, training and exercise of recovery plans
- Establish contacts/networks for recovery resources and support systems
- Implement practices to foster sustainability in strategic planning initiatives
- Validation of accessibility and security
- Establish internal and external contacts and contractors
- Damage assessment
- Identify the extent of the repair work
- Development of repair plans and schedules
- Restoration of operations
- Updated DR plans
- Investigate the viability of moving to the DR as a Service model.
Minimum requirements
Contractor Requirements:
- Own vehicle (to travel to different sites)
- Personal laptop and home internet access
Minimum qualifications:
- Proven work experience in disaster recovery
- Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL and IT risk frameworks would be beneficial
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a company
- Preferably BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Technology or an undergraduate degree in a relevant IT discipline.
- Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Solid working knowledge of the mining and industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with mining and mining concepts, practices and procedures
- The ability to work under pressure
Minimum experience:
- Experience in IT infrastructures and application environments,
- Excellent mastery of project management principles, methods, techniques and tools (strong in planning and scheduling),
- Knowledge of IT at the technical level to allow good coordination of DR tests,
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office O365 suite,
- Strong experience in Work Package management,
- Good communication skills at all levels and good command of English,
- Experience in innovation initiatives and projects,
- Document management skills,
- Knowledge of IT governance and/or assurance frameworks will be an added advantage.
