This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Security Manager to join Bradford Council’s IT Services team, based at Britannia House (Bradford).
Work in the Enterprise Architecture and System Services team to lead the IT Security team to provide security policy and document development, system support, maintenance and configuration that ensures the department meets and exceeds agreed service levels for its customers.
The central objective of the role is to participate in and support the security strategy for the continuous development and improvement of the board’s security posture. You will need to work with the Business, Projects and Infrastructure team to establish controls and security requirements across a wide range of issues. You will be required to manage a small online team responsible for day-to-day security compliance and monitoring activities, development of IT policies and guidelines, and end-to-end security incident management.
The successful candidate for this opportunity will:
· Have a good understanding of privacy and compliance issues, including PCI DSS, PSN, DPA, IGTook Kit and Computer Misuse Act.
· Oversee the design, effectiveness, implementation and integration of information security policies, procedures and guidelines
· Oversee SOC advice with internal and external resources
· Implement, review and execute IT security strategy
Have a good managerial appreciation in the overall risk, control and capital assessment for information security and maintain a detailed record of risks and issues
Oversee the escalation, investigation and communication or reporting of information security issues, including data protection breaches
Maintain a suite of key information security risk indicators and other relevant management information
Develop and maintain an appropriate information security incident response procedure
· Have a good understanding of all areas of information security, including infrastructure and application security.
Have experience with antivirus, endpoint protection, email and web filtering tools as well as knowledge of vulnerability assessment penetration testing tools
Have experience with AWS, Azure and Office 365 security tools and
Have experience implementing, installing and migrating authentication/identity security management solutions, including implementation of identity and access management plan
Have experience in the field of security in applications, security, infrastructure, cloud, integration and networks
Work within an architecture framework to transform IT services and the departments it supports
Advantageous to have CISSP or CISM certification
Desirable to have an understanding of TOGAF methodology
o At least 3 years of work experience at a senior level in an ICT environment, including 2 years of experience in managing people, projects or a function and a university degree or equivalent in information technology and communication or
Professional Diploma in Management.
o At least 5 years of work experience at a senior level in an ICT environment AND includes 2 years of experience managing people, projects or a function.
· Have excellent customer contact and customer service skills.
