Summary of Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience which has provided the candidate with the particular skills/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and which is generally related to or related to the work of the position to be filled . Such experience is usually gained in the IT field or by performing a job where the primary concern is IT.
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialty experience equivalent to at least the next lower level, GS-13, in federal service to qualify for GS-14.
The specialized experience to qualify for the GS-14 is defined as:
1. Experience developing machine learning solutions using open source tools such as R or Python to oversee testing, optimization, and deployment of machine learning models. 2. Experience working with off-the-shelf cloud-based AI solutions (examples: AWS Lex, Google Translate API, etc.). 3. Experience in developing recommendations for improvements to include partnering and collaborating with business and engagement analysts to understand current business processes and develop automated workflows. 4. Experience in identifying and communicating results across the organization on current state observations, data analysis, benchmarking and best practices. 5. Experience across the full lifecycle (solution, development, cloud deployment) of an AI solution. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work performed with national service programs (eg, PeaceCorps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional, philanthropic, religious , spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build essential skills, knowledge and abilities and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly into paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
