Applications are invited for the 3-year contract position of IT Systems Administrator – Senior IT Specialist within the IT Research Team at UCD IT Services. The successful candidate will ideally have experience with Linux or Windows server experience. Although the primary duties of this position are related to Linux server administration, we are open to candidates with primarily Windows server experience (or other technical areas) joining the team for cross-training to Linux. The Research Computing team provides high-level technical support and services to UCD researchers and our core services include high performance computing, solution architecture, website hosting and consulting. network and security. In addition to these services, we will soon be offering a new Research Data Management service. Within this team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-performance environment, delivering high-quality online solutions and services that support the university’s strategy. In addition to the positions currently vacant, a panel may be set up. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of initiative and autonomy and have the ability to deliver a complete service, process or system to a defined audience. The position requires a high level of customer service, analytical and technical skills and is suitable for someone with a keen interest in building strong collaborative relationships within the University. Salary: €50,883 – €61,163 per year The appointment will be made according to the scale and in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance.
