We are looking for a specialist in energy efficiency measurement. This role proactively manages VEIC Energy Efficiency Utilities (EEU) obligations for metering and verification of program energy savings, load shifting, and demand reduction for commercial and industrial customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the implementation of M&V plans for individual customers in conjunction with VEIC’s engineers and account managers – assisting in meter selection and approach, equipment management, and monitoring of measurement results in internal VEIC systems.
  • Maintains, supports and optimizes VEIC metering equipment, reservation system, purchasing new equipment, developing metering plans, metering deployments and reviewing metering data.
  • Provides leadership and coordinates with other measurement resources within Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V) and Engineering as required. timely acquisition of necessary supplies, successful relationships with key vendors, and accurate forecasting of equipment needs.
  • Executes the coordination and completion of commercial and industrial M&V (C&I) of the FCM. Represents EM&V in Public Service Department (PSD), PSD subs and EM&V conference calls and other FCM interactions.
  • Provides support to VEIC activities as needed to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal commitment to VEIC’s mission, vision, goals and values.
  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering or technical field where analytical and scientific knowledge has been integrated.
  • A minimum of five years of experience measuring and analyzing multi-family, commercial or industrial energy consumption, identifying opportunities for energy improvements, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
  • Good understanding of building systems, building energy use, building construction and preferred energy analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and execute metering installations effectively.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical power and wiring as it relates to equipment and circuits at both the building level and HVAC level to determine practical and relevant metering inputs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This position is a hybrid role (remote/in-person) and requires both travel within the state of Vermont and the ability to travel to the office in Winooski, Vermont.

We are also expanding our IT team and are looking for a IT specialist. This role drives efficiency and collaboration within the Helpdesk team, supporting the entire national organization. The Helpdesk team responds to and resolves issues reported by VEIC staff regarding the supported technology. The team performs the work in accordance with established service level agreements and standard operating procedures. This role identifies opportunities to better support the changing technology needs of staff and improve existing processes. When directed, participates in the planning and implementation of infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve staff technology issues and respond to service requests.
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding standard processes.
  • Responsible for monitoring standard processes and procedures.
  • Provide support for various VEIC activities to achieve organizational goals and objects (e.g. staff meetings, investigative initiatives, etc.)
  • Manages day-to-day work independently and project work with input from Service Desk Manager.
  • Oversee contractors working on infrastructure efforts.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff on the following processes and procedures.
  • Train/coach junior staff members on technical requirements.
  • Provide all-staff training/brown bags/new employee orientation.
  • Identify common issues or trends in tickets.
  • Participate in the deployment of new technologies.
  • Communicate minor failures (printers, etc.) using standard language/templates.
  • May provide specialized administrative support of VEIC IT technologies or processes.
  • May be responsible for remote office support.
  • Supports coordination of activities with other staff, groups and divisions within VEIC as necessary to accomplish the organization. Provides support to VEIC activities, as necessary to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience providing IT support services in a professional environment, or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and proven dedication to customer service.
  • Must have a desire to continue learning about computer and network support and repair.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Working understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • A working knowledge of computer hardware configuration and the ability to perform basic hardware repairs and upgrades.
  • Working understanding of operating system deployment, document management and incident management technologies.
  • A working knowledge of configuring and/or maintaining peripheral equipment including printers, copiers, IP phones, cell phones, audio and video equipment and digital cameras.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable with training and educating end staff.

This position is a hybrid role (remote/in-person) and must be able to travel to the Winooski, Vermont office.
